You Need to Try This Easy Slow Cooker Meatloaf Recipe

When we make meatloaf, typically we make it in the oven. That's the traditional way to do it, and it's how many recipes out there will have you make it. This recipe is unique, then, in that it has you cook the meatloaf in the crock pot.

You may wonder if that's even possible, but with this recipe it is! This is one of our favorite ways to prepare meatloaf. It's simple, as all slow cooker recipes should be. Many of the ingredients you'll need are the exact same as oven-baked meatloaf.

This recipe will cook on high for the first hour, and then on low for an additional six to eight hours. This will ensure that the meat cooks thoroughly. The end product will be delicious and hearty, ensuring your family leave the table satisfied.

Slow Cooker Meatloaf

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup tomato juice
3 tablespoons chopped onion
3 tablespoons chopped bell pepper
3 tablespoons chopped celery
2 tablespoons seasoned salt
3 teaspoons thyme
1 cup ketchup
1 green pepper (cored and seeded), sliced into rings

Directions:

1. Using a fork, mix all the ingredients, except ketchup and pepper rings.

2. Shape mixture into a loaf and place into greased crockpot.

3. Top meatloaf with ketchup and pepper rings. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then on low 6 to 8 hours.
