1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon dried basil
2 teaspoons dried thyme
½ teaspoon ground white pepper
½ teaspoon black pepper
1/8 to ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
6 4-ounce tuna steaks (½ inch thick)
Vegetable cooking spray
1 ½ tablespoons margarine, melted
Fresh thyme sprigs (optional)
Lime wedges (optional)
1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a small bowl, and stir well. Rub tuna steaks with pepper mixture.
2. Coat grill rack with cooking spray; place on grill over medium-hot (350 to 400 degrees F) coals.
3. Place tuna on rack; drizzle with margarine, and grill 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until tuna flakes easily with a fork. If desired, garnish with thyme sprigs and lime wedges (not included in analysis).
