You Need to Try This Pork Chops with Strawberry Sauce Recipe

Strawberries and pork are a flavor combination that not only tastes fantastic, but also help make a super easy recipe for busy weeknights. If you've never tried strawberry and pork together, you're about to have a fantastic experience. Pork can go with a wide variety of flavors. It's often paired with sweet tastes, like honey.

This recipe uses frozen strawberries. If you have access to fresh strawberries, those can work as well. The important thing is that you have sufficient juice for this recipe. We've chosen frozen strawberries primarily for their accessibility. Some parts of the country only have access to fresh strawberries during parts of the year.

In terms of other ingredients, you'll only need a few. You likely already have sugar, vanilla extract, and unsalted butter on hand. You'll just need to buy the cornstarch and pork chops. With an ingredients list that simple and affordable, what's not to love?

There are seven steps to this recipe, but they're each very straightforward. Even novice cooks should be able to make this recipe without much difficulty. When you're a busy, stressed parent, you want easy recipes for weeknights. Save the complicated, time-consuming dishes for the weekend and holidays!

Pork Chops with Strawberry Sauce

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed and drained with juice reserved
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 center cut boneless loin pork chops

Directions:

1. In a bowl, combine the reserved strawberry juice with water to make 1 cup.

2. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and cornstarch, then stir in the strawberry juice.

3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and becomes clear.

4. Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and the strawberries.

5. Melt butter in a heavy nonstick skillet over high heat. When butter just begins to turn golden, add pork chops.

6. Reduce heat to medium and sauté 8-10 minutes, turning chops frequently, until brown on the outside and cooked throughout (no pink on the inside).

7. Top the pork chops with the strawberry sauce and serve. Makes 4 servings.
