The Watermelon Slushie Recipe Kids Love

Summer calls for refreshing foods and beverages — a little something light to offer some relief from the heat. Here's a recipe that offers the best of both — a watermelon slushie! Enjoy the sweet flavors of this quintessential summer fruit in a chilling slushie format. Keep reading to find out how.

Other Fruit Slushies to Try

After making this delicious watermelon slushie, you'll find yourself wanting to make other flavors! With so many different kinds of fruit out there, the possibilities are virtually endless. You can use just one fruit, or use a combination of different fruits for an interesting flavor profile.

Orange and strawberry are two great flavors to try. Both of these fruits are heavily associated with summer. Few things are as refreshing on a hot day as an orange or strawberry slushie! Raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry are other awesome flavors to try.

Get your kids involved by asking for their input. What flavors of slushie would they like to try? Once they express what they want to make, have them give you a hand with making their own slushie. You'll be able to teach them a useful cooking skill, while allowing them to enjoy a special treat!

Kids always appreciate food more when they've made it themselves. Whether you make this watermelon slushie with them or another flavor, they'll be much more inclined to show gratitude for what they're drinking. Plus, all of you can make such fun memories together. Turn slushie-making into a summer tradition!
