Is This Baked Chili Recipe Spicy?

Chili can range from mild to very hot, so wondering about a given chili recipe's spice level is a very legitimate concern. The use of chilies in this recipe may have the more heat-sensitive raising their eyebrows. Chilies can be very spicy!

We do consider this recipe to be on the spicier side. That means that those who are extra sensitive to spice may want to exercise caution. Have a glass of milk or orange juice handy to pair with this recipe. You read that right- orange juice. Acidic drinks can actually be a great way to cool your mouth off after eating something spicy.

Of course, always listen to your body and know your own spice tolerance. Everyone is different. What may be mild to one is not mild to another. You don't want to push yourself too far outside of your comfort zone, since then you won't enjoy your culinary experience at all. If you're new to spicy meals, try a small amount first and see how you can handle it.

Ultimately, whether or not you consider this recipe spicy is going to depend on your personal tolerance. Consider how you've felt about other recipes that use chilies, and use that as a metric to measure against. We hope you enjoy!
