This is an Amazing Slow Cooker Shrimp Creole Soup Recipe

Shrimp creole is one of the most popular dishes out there. Shrimp is easily accessible for most Americans at any time of the year, whether fresh or frozen. This shrimp creole soup recipe is a must-try. It's made in the slow cooker, making it an easy dish to make.

You'll want to buy frozen shrimp that is pre-cooked. If you aren't able to find this or you choose to buy fresh shrimp instead, you'll need to cook it in advance. The shrimp won't be cooking in the slow cooker itself, so this step is important. You'll be adding the shrimp in to the slow cooker at the end, so keep the shrimp in the freezer until then.

This soup takes eight to ten hours on low or three to four hours on high. If you want a recipe that can cook while you're away at work, this is it. The various ingredients in this recipe provide a lot of nutrition without too much fat. It's an excellent choice for any family looking to eat healthier.

When buying your shrimp, try to buy shrimp that is sustainably sourced. Many fisheries do not engage in environmentally-friendly practices, putting wild fish species and the stability of our waters at risk. It can be difficult at times to find the best shrimp you can, but you'll often be able to find a good brand after a little searching. Be wary of farm-raised shrimp, as these shrimp are not always raised in the cleanest of conditions.
