Check Out This Unique Creole Burger Recipe

Have you ever used Cajun seasoning in a burger recipe? If not, this is a great recipe to start with. Cajun seasoning is an integral part of many Creole recipes, which is why we've included it here. It's a distinct and wonderful flavor that really stands out as the star of any recipe it's in.

Traditional burger recipes are great and all, but sometimes you need something different. These Creole burgers will be a welcome addition to any family's recipe book. They're great for a unique picnic experience, or for dinner on any night of the week.

These burgers shouldn't be too spicy, unless you have a very low tolerance for spice. If you're worried, just keep a glass of milk handy! Milk is a great treatment for a mouth besieged by spice. You can also cut down on the Cajun seasoning within, but given that the Cajun seasoning is this recipe's main source of flavor we don't recommend it.

2 pounds ground beef
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 small green sweet pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (2 ounces)
6 hamburger buns, split

Directions:

In bowl, mix beef, Cajun seasoning, and salt. Divide into 12 portions. Shape into 3- to 4-inch wide patties.

In bowl, mix onion, pepper, and cheese. Spoon 1/4 cup of cheese mixture into the centers of 6 patties. Top with remaining patties. Press edges to seal.

Grill directly over medium heat, uncovered, 14 to 18 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the center of burgers registers 160 degrees F, turning over halfway through grilling time.
