Description

Popcorn offers a satisfying crunch that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Follow this simple recipe for how to make homemade microwave popcorn. Quick and easy, and the kids will love making it too. Make sure to keep an eye on the popcorn while it cooks.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (optional)
  • 1 pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels
  • Your choice of seasoning or herbs

Instructions

  1. First, toss the kernels with salt and olive oil to ensure they are fully covered. Then place them in a microwave-safe dish.
  2. Cover the dish with a dinner plate or cling wrap (remember to poke a few holes on top). Microwave on high for 3 to 4 minutes until you hear 1 to 2 seconds between pops.
  3. Finally, using gloves, remove the bowl from the oven, take off the plate or clingwrap, and allow it to cool. Sprinkle with your desired seasoning or herbs. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure to use a big enough glass bowl; ¼ cup of kernels yields 6 cups of popcorn.
