The United States has plenty of chicken restaurants to choose from, no matter what state you live in. Of course, one of the more popular selections, with over 3,300 locations in 48 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and Canada, is Chick-fil-A. But if you're not a fan of the largest chicken sandwich chain in the U.S., or perhaps you simply want more options, there are plenty of tastier, cheaper fried chicken spots.
It's no surprise that customers love Chick-fil-A so much. Not only is the food tasty, but the chain is also known for its excellent customer service. According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Chick-fil-A ranked the highest (again) in 2025 for overall customer satisfaction among quick service restaurants. However, fried chicken spots like KFC and Popeyes were also on the list, and are also incredibly popular choices for fried chicken fans. Popeyes saw its customer satisfaction score increase by 4% to 75 in the 2025 ACSI rankings.
If you're looking for alternatives to Chick-fil-A, we compiled a list of 8 other fried chicken spots that are definitely worth trying out. Whether you're in the mood for wings, are yearning for chicken tenders, or are craving a fried chicken sandwich, these restaurants have something you'll enjoy.
