Can You Name the Capitals of These 15 States? Most American's Can't

Most of us memorized the state capitals in school, but plenty of those names disappeared as soon as the geography test was over. Some are easy to remember because the capital is also the state’s best-known city. Others are much trickier, especially when a larger or more famous city gets nearly all the attention.

That is where the confusion starts. People often assume the busiest, biggest, or most visited city must be the capital, only to discover that the actual answer is a much smaller place. A few capitals are so unexpected that even adults who know their geography can second-guess themselves.

Whether you are helping your kids study, brushing up on what you learned years ago, or simply looking for a fun challenge, this list is a great way to test your memory. See how many of these 15 state capitals you can name before revealing the answers.
