The Clothes Rack is a thrift shop that gives back to the community. In the last 25 years, they have given over 2 million dollars to the Richmond community. Their main goal is to provide new, or mostly new, clothing items to the members of the community. This thrift shop survives on its community's generous donations, giving some of its revenue to a local nonprofit. The Clothes Rack helps the Junior League of Richmond, another local nonprofit that assists women and children in Richmond. With affordable clothing and helping the community with each sale, it truly is an incredible place.

This thrift shop accepts donations of furniture, clothing, houseware, kitchen items, books, electronics, lamps, and knick-knacks. This is provided that they are in good and usable condition. Items will not be accepted if they are ripped, stained, have odors, excessive pet hair, or are damaged. 

Although this thrift shop accepts a wide variety of gently used items, it does not accept everything. Some items that cannot be donated to Diversity Thrift are beds/bed frames, sofa beds, mattresses, exercise equipment, and printers. Open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, there is no shortage of times when you could visit this store. They sell a variety of items, ranging from furniture and jewelry to medical supplies and electronics. You can even find Christmas decorations here! Be sure to call ahead if you are planning on dropping off a large donation that day.

According to their website,  they receive more than 600,000 visits annually from children needing healthcare. 

In addition to already being an affordable option, this store also offers special discount days to help drive the prices even lower for their customers. Mondays are for veterans, who can earn 25 percent off purchases. Tuesdays are for all customers as a sign of customer appreciation, where they can also receive 25 percent off purchases. That 25 percent off applies to officers and first responders on Wednesdays, and on Thursdays, it applies to senior citizens.
