Adjectives add the ability to visualize something more clearly to a reader, convey feelings with more emotion, and to describe exactly what the speaker or writer wants. The perfect adjective can mean the difference between a flavorful, juicy, medium-well cheeseburger and a basic mass-produced fast food sandwich. It’s all in how you describe what you want.

To further add when describing parts of speech there are different types of words we use when we write and speak. Additionally, there are 8 different types; nouns, pronouns verbs, adjectives, conjunctions, prepositions, adverbs, and interjections.  

What Is an Adjective?

To begin with, an adjective describes a noun. A noun is a person, place, or thing. Adjectives provide details about nouns for example a short girl, a tall building, or a fluffy teddy bear. Adjectives can describe how something looks for example: It’s a black dog. Adjectives can also describe how something feels, for example, The rabbit feels soft. Adjectives can also tell how someone feels for example: Timmy feels sad, he lost his ball in the park. Numbers can also be adjectives by referring to how many, for example, there are two apples.
