12 Easy-to-Make Cocktails That Are Perfect for March

If you are not a fan of Guinness or Irish whiskey, don't worry! We have got you covered with our list of twelve cocktails perfect for celebrating St. Patrick's Day in March. Or, if you are looking for a simple cocktail to celebrate the warming weather and the arrival of spring, these drinks will do the trick.

Furthermore, you do not need to be a professional mixologist to make any of these cocktails. We have twelve easy-to-make mixed drinks that are ideal for intimate gatherings or a relaxing cocktail after dinner. Our list includes a wide variety of cocktails, such as gin fizzes, mimosas, and the classic minty Grasshopper.

Baileys Guinness Irish Floats

If you are a fan of Guinness, this recipe offers a twist on the classic root beer float by substituting the root beer with Guinness, a dark, chocolate-flavored Irish stout. It is best to pour the Guinness over the vanilla ice cream in large glasses because the Guinness may cause the ice cream to foam.

Ingredients

Vanilla Ice Cream
Baileys Irish Cream
Guinness Beer
Chocolate Syrup

Recipe

  • Place two scoops of ice cream into two large glasses.
  • Add in 1 ounce of Baileys Irish Cream.
  • Pour about a cup of Guinness beer into each glass to top off the ice cream. It is best to pour half of the beer in, stir it, and then pour the rest to blend the flavors. (Guinness creates a lot of foam, so pour it in slowly.)
  • Drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired.

Fuzzy Leprechaun Cocktail

This cocktail is best mixed in a cocktail shaker and served in a hurricane glass.

Ingredients

Peach Schnapps
Blue Curacao
Vodka
Orange Juice
Pineapple Juice
Orange and Cherry (for garnish)

Recipe

  • Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well.
  • Strain into glass and garnish with the orange and cherry.

Grasshopper Cocktail

The Grasshopper is one of the oldest and most famous dessert cocktails. This refreshing drink is made with a combination of crème de menthe, crème de cacao, and cream. People have been enjoying this minty cocktail for more than 100 years, although its heyday was in the 1970s.

Ingredients

Green crème de menthe (1 oz)
White crème de cacao (1 oz)
1 oz Heavy cream
Mint Leaves (for garnish)

Recipe

  • Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
  • Add ice and shake vigorously.
  • Strain into a chilled glass.
  • Add the mint leaves to the top of the cocktail.

Green Mimosa

Mimosas are the perfect cocktail for breakfast, brunch, or even an evening drink. This green mimosa is perfect for St. Patrick's Day. Moreover, it is incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients

Orange Juice
Blue Curacao
Champagne

Recipe

  • Chill your champagne or sparkling wine for several hours before mixing your drink.
  • Add 2.5 oz orange juice to your champagne flute.
  • Pour in a splash of Blue Curacao.
  • Top with 3 oz champagne and stir.
  • Add garnish if desired.

Irish Tea Party Cocktail

This simple yet delicious cocktail is made with absinthe, Irish whiskey, and sweetened green tea.

Ingredients

1/4 ounce Absinthe
1 ounce Irish Whiskey
4 ounces sweetened Green Tea, chilled
Lime Slice (for garnish)

Recipe

  • Pour the absinthe into a glass. Tilt and rotate the glass to swirl the absinthe around the inside of the glass.
  • Tip the glass to allow the absinthe to reach the rim of the glass. Continue to swirl.
  • Once the glass is completely coated, pour out the remaining absinthe.
  • Add ice to the glass. Pour Irish whiskey into the glass.
  • Add the green tea and garnish with a lime slice. Serve and enjoy.

Kiwi Gin Fizz

The classic gin fizz is made of lemon juice, sugar, and sparkling water, but this twist on that drink is made with kiwi, St-Germain (made of elderflowers), and lime juice with sparkling water. It is the perfect cocktail to celebrate the greenness of March and the coming arrival of Spring.

Ingredients

1 Kiwi, peeled
1 Kiwi Slice (for garnish)
1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 oz. St-Germain
3/4 oz. Simple Syrup

  • Add remaining kiwi to cocktail shaker and mix well.
  • Add gin, St-Germain, lime juice and simple syrup.

Luck of the Irish Cocktail

This refreshing green cocktail is both simple and delicious, and it is sure to make you feel lucky as you drink it.

Ingredients

Irish Whiskey
Peach Schnapps
Pineapple Juice
Lemon-Lime Soda
Green Food Coloring (if you want the drink to look Irish green)
A mint sprig or maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Recipe

  • Combine Irish whiskey, peach schnapps, pineapple juice, and a drop of food coloring to give this drink its green hue.
  • Shake well in a cocktail shaker.
  • Serve the drink over ice with mint leaves and a cherry for garnish, if desired.

Shamrock Sour Cocktail

This is a twist on the classic whiskey sour. It can be made with any kind of whiskey, but we recommend Irish whiskey in March.

Ingredients

Lime Juice
Irish Whiskey
Lemon Juice
Green Food Coloring (a tiny drop)
Simple Syrup
Lime Wedge (for garnish)

Recipe

  • Combine ingredients and shake well. Strain over ice.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and a shamrock stirrer.

Sour Apple Tequila Cocktail

This tangy beverage takes less than ten minutes to make and has a lovely green color that is perfect for St. Patrick's Day. You can adjust the amount of agave or simple syrup to suit your desired level of sweetness. If you prefer a milder alcoholic drink, you can add more Sprite (or whatever lemon-lime soda you choose). Alternatively, you can substitute lemon-lime seltzer water for the Sprite.

Ingredients

Tequila
Sour Apple Liqueur
Lime Juice (Lemon juice is a suitable substitute.)
Agave or Simple Syrup
Sprite
Lime Wedges or Slices of Apple (for garnish)

Recipe

  • Simply add the ingredients into a cocktail shaker, shake, and serve.
  • Pour into a glass with ice.
  • Garnish with either thinly sliced apples or limes.
  • If you like, wet the rim of your glass with a lime wedge. Let it dry, then dip the glass rim in a shallow bowl of white or green-colored sugar.

Sparkling Shamrock Cocktail

This cocktail recipe requires only two ingredients and can be prepared in just minutes. To save money, you can use Prosecco or Cava instead of champagne as they are usually less expensive.

Unfortunately, this cocktail cannot be prepared ahead of time. To prep beforehand, you can add sugar to the rim of each glass. You can also pour the melon liquor into each glass. However, champagne should be added only when it is time to serve. Once you add the champagne, serve the cocktail immediately.

Ingredients

1 Bottle of Sparkling Wine of Your Choice
7 oz Melon Liqueur

Recipe

  • If you plan to serve this cocktail to a group of people, do not prepare it in advance. The champagne should be poured fresh into each glass so it retains its delicious bubbly taste.
  • However, you can still make the process easier by filling a tray with champagne flutes and pouring the melon liqueur into each one.
  • When you are ready to serve, simply top up each flute with sparkling wine.

St Patrick’s Day Green Dublin Cocktail

This green sweet and sour cocktail is a tribute to Dublin. It also has a bit of a punch from the Irish whiskey, making it the perfect cocktail for St. Patrick's Day.

Ingredients

4 oz Irish Whiskey
4 oz White Cranberry Juice
2 oz Sour Apple Schnapps
Fresh Mint Leaves (for garnish)
1 Green Apple Cut into Thin Slices (for garnish)

Recipe

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all the ingredients and shake for thirty seconds.
  • Serve in a martini glass and garnish with mint and sliced green apple.

Tipsy Mermaid Cocktail

Our final cocktail is a beautiful aqua-colored drink with tropical flavors. It is incredibly easy to make and perfect for welcoming warmer weather. Moreover, you can drink this on St. Patrick's Day if you are not a fan of green beer or Irish whiskey.

Ingredients
White Claw Watermelon Seltzer (12 oz)
Pineapple Juice
Rum
Blue Curacao
Lime Juice

Recipe

  • To make this refreshing and colorful drink, combine pineapple juice, blue curacao, lime juice, and rum in a small pitcher and stir gently.
  • Then pour in some White Claw and give it a light stir, making sure not to overdo it, as you don't want to flatten the drink.
  • You can serve it with ice, a slice of lime, a slice of pineapple, or even some maraschino cherries if you like.
