7 Discontinued Menu Items My Family Would Love to See Back on Dunkin's Menu
While many people often choose Starbucks as their go-to coffee and pastry destination, my family has always chosen Dunkin' as our favorite morning location. If you love coffee, they have everything there you need. Donut lovers also have a wide selection from which to choose, and there are always new flavors to love. If you've been going to Dunkin' for as long as we have, then you've likely seen many tasty treats come and go, and that's what we're talking about today: The discontinued items that we would love to see back on Dunkin's menu.
There have been a number of amazing menu options here over the years that we desperately want back. Who else remembers those amazing donut fries that they had for a while? How about the pancake minis that you could enjoy on your way to work? They even had some unique coffee flavors that blew our minds over the years. For now, all we have are the memories. Let's go back in time and remember the greatest Dunkin' menu items that are now long gone.
Donut Fries
One of the first options that we'd love to see back on Dunkin's menu is their famous donut fries. They came out in 2018, and people went wild for them. They were as they sound: Fries with the same texture and taste as donuts but you could take them anywhere and share them with friends. Plus, at just $2 for a batch, they were also a steal.
They Weren't Meant to Be
While we thought the donut fries were delicious, not everyone was on board, at least not enough for Dunkin' to keep the treats on their menu. Adding to the issue was that the company intended for the donut fries to only be a limited summertime release. It's a shame because the sky was the limit. Just imagine donut fries in all the fun flavors that we currently get in regular donuts. The sky is the limit.
The Dunkalatte
One of the more recent discontinued items at Dunkin' is The Dunkalatte. It was released in late 2024. It's a coffee drink with the addition of coffee milk. It's truly unique, and though it looks like something you could get at Starbucks, it's definitely its own thing. The "coffee milk" was actually a mixture of coffee and whole milk. It was like a caffeinated milkshake, and people loved it.
Will We See The Dunkalatte Again?
If you loved The Dunkalatte as much as I did, then you may be in a good mood after you hear this news. For starters, this beverage was supposed to be a seasonal treat, so it may come back again next season. Even if you don't see it at Dunkin', you can also make this treat at home by following this recipe.
Croissant Stuffers
Another treat that we wish was back on Dunkin's menu is the croissant stuffers. They were truly iconic and unique to this restaurant. You could get them stuffed with turkey, bacon, chicken, and cheese. They were tasty and perfectly seasoned, and you could take them with you on the way to work or school. Tasty treats were released in 2019, but as of 2020, they are gone.
People Want Croissant Stuffers Back
The croissant stuffers sound like they would fit right in with the Dunkin' menu. It's strange that they didn't stick around. The reason may be due to the costs of producing the treats. Things were tough during the COVID-19 pandemic, so maybethey didn't think the cost was worth it. In 2020, there was a Change.org campaign to try to bring the treats back, but it wasn't to be.
Green Goddess Wrap
While many people head to Dunkin' looking for a coffee and a donut to start their morning, many people also head there for lunch. They have many great midday meals, including sandwiches and meals. One of the best items that was gone too soon was the green goddess wrap. It was still available as of a couple of years ago, but it has since vanished without a trace.
The Beauty of the Green Goddess Wrap
If you didn't get a chance to try the green goddess wrap, then you missed something pretty spectacular. It was a tasty vegetarian lunch dish that was packed with tasty ingredients and green goddess dressing. It was one of those vegetarian dishes that anyone could enjoy. Over time, some Dunkin' employees have come out and said that the meal will be making a comeback, but it has yet to become a reality.
Pancake Minis
It makes sense for a chain that specializes in breakfast options like coffee and donuts to expand its horizons. So, it's no surprise that for a limited time, the company released these tasty pancake minis. Released in 2021, the small pancakes came in an envelope with a side of syrup. They were great for eating on the go, and you could eat them with your hands!
Then They Disappeared!
We want to see the mini pancakes return to Dunkin's menu but we don't know if that will happen. One day, the pancakes just disappeared from the menu. There's very little information online as to what happened to them. It could be that they didn't sell as well as the company hoped or maybe they took too many resources to prepare and sell them. All we know is that we hope they come back.
Hazelnut Swirl Coffee
If you go to almost any coffee shop, you'll have the option for a hazelnut coffee, but these days, the option is absent from the Dunkin' menu, at least when it comes to the hazelnut swirl. It was the perfect combination of coffee and that smooth nuttiness. One day, it was simply gone from the menu. People were upset, and they started contacting the company. There was even a Change.org petition created to try to bring it back.
What Happened to the Hazelnut Swirl Coffee?
The mystery as to what happened to the disappearing hazelnut swirl beverage is yet to be solved. When asked, many employees said that the drink wasn't as popular as many of the other beverages, so it didn't make sense to keep it on the menu. Many people were upset with the coffee giant and repeatedly went into shops to demand their swirl. By the way, try not to do that. It will only put stress on the employees and they're not in charge of what the company sells.
Beyond Sausage Sandwich
Vegetarians and other people who'd like to avoid meat are probably wishing that the Beyond Sausage Sandwich would make its way back on Dunkin's menu. Dunkin' decided to jump on the meatless bandwagon back in 2019 and introduce this mouthwatering creation. The sandwich had great protein, egg, and cheese alternatives and it was tasty for both meat eaters and non-meat eaters.
What Happened to the Beyond Sausage Sandwich?
The sandwich was going well for a while until 2021, when it fell off of the menu. Many people wondered why, but it probably came down to sales. During that time, every restaurant had some form of meatless sandwich, but they didn't sell as well as the companies hoped. Plus, Dunkin' was also sued for having a slogan, "Plant-Based, Great Taste" that was too close to the similar slogan of a competitor.
