The 1980s Songs People Still Love to Hate

There is a lot to love about the 1980s. The decade gave us big hair, shoulder pads, neon everything, unforgettable movies, and plenty of music that still holds up today. But not every song from the era aged like fine wine. Some tracks were catchy in the worst possible way, the kind that got stuck in your head whether you liked them or not.

Everyone has at least one 1980s song they still cannot stand. Maybe it was overplayed on the radio, maybe the lyrics were too silly, or maybe the production sounds more dated now than charming. Some of these songs were huge hits, which only made them harder to escape. Others were annoying from the start and somehow became even more irritating with time.

In this slideshow, we’re looking back at the 1980s songs people still love to hate. Ranked from mildly irritating to truly hard to sit through, these are the songs from the decade that many listeners would rather leave in the past.
