As part of his initiative to Make America Healthy Again (MAHA), President Trump chose Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., also known as RFK Jr., as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). One of RFK Jr.'s first decisions in his new role? Getting rid of food dyes. As of Tuesday, April 22nd, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced artificial dyes will be phased out by the end of 2025, targeting the petroleum-based synthetic dyes used in many drinks, cereals, and snacks. According to FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, they have encouraged companies to use ingredients such as fruit or vegetable juice for coloring instead. Here's a list of 11 foods that may be affected by the food dye ban.
