In this low carb world, if you can forgo a bun on your burger, many would say all the better. Burger buns have a surprising amount of calories in them. You may not think about them as a potential enemy to your diet, but they really can be!

Eating too many carbs can make it difficult to lose weight. Carbs are important, but like many other foods they should be eaten in moderation. It can be challenging to do, since we all love carb-heavy foods. But with recipes like this one, it becomes a lot easier.

This recipe is much more diet-friendly than a typical burger with a bun. Plus, there are plenty of ways to go about making it. Our recipe is one of the best bunless burger recipes out there, but we also provide some other recipe ideas as well. Read on to find out more about how you can make this mealtime treat for your family.

Bunless Burger Recipes

There are several ways you can create a bunless burger dish. We start ours by using a mixture of ground beef and sausage. The meats are mixed, and then roasted red pepper and parmesan cheese is used as a filling for the burgers.

The burgers are grilled and then wrapped with a lettuce leaf. A toothpick is used to affix a tomato to the top of each burger, and then they are ready to be served. Although there are many ways to create a bunless burger dish, most cooks agree that the flavor is key. A great tasting burger will taste so good, you won’t even miss the bun.

For many, a great tasting burger starts with high-quality meat. Grass-fed beef or American style Kobe beef are highly recommended. If you can’t afford the high-quality meats, you can also add bacon grease or olive oil to your beef. It will make the burgers nice and juicy.

Salt is also a terrific secret weapon for home cooks making bunless burgers. It really amps up the flavor of the meat.

Bunless Burger Ideas

If you live in a low carb household, having a variety of bunless burger recipes will really come in handy. Here are a few we recommend.

Low Carb Mexican Chicken Burgers: Make a leaner meat choice by using ground chicken instead of ground beef for your burger. Spice it up by mixing the meat with red onion, dried chili, garlic, paprika, cumin, and cilantro. Add an egg to bind it together, and you have a mean burger with a kick. Serve in a lettuce wrap.

The Famous ABC Keto Burger: Low carb and keto? For those passionate about health, this bunless burger may seem almost too good to be true. This recipe also calls for ground chicken that is mixed with onion, garlic, and egg. The burgers and then topped with bacon, onion rings, and avocado. How something so sinful can be so healthy is beyond us!

Low Carb Bleu Cheeseburger: What’s great about this recipe is that it only takes four simple ingredients; beef, Worcestershire sauce, McCormick seasoning, and bleu cheese. Combine ingredients and top with mushrooms and onions for a taste sensation that is melt-in-your-mouth good.

Green Chili Turkey Burgers: Here, turkey makes a leaner replacement for ground beef. Green chilis, cilantro, onion, cumin, chili powder, and sea salt give the burgers a spicy kick. Combine ingredients, grill, and serve for a dish your family is sure to love.

Low carb, yes, full of flavor, of course! What will you be doing to make your burgers so good they won’t even notice the bun is missing?
