Pizza is always a hit in my house. After all, who doesn’t love pizza? It’s the perfect combination of finger food that’s easy to eat and a full meal, all in one. Kids love it, parents love it, and everybody leaves the table happy. As a one-pan meal, it’s easy to make, eat, and clean up.

But you don’t have to splurge on taking out. A couple of pies from a pizza joint is fairly inexpensive as far as restaurant meals go. But it’s still an extra expense you don’t need, especially if you’re on a tight budget. It’s so much cheaper to make your own pizza at home and it’s still every bit as satisfying.

Even if you’re just pressed for time, making this pizza at home is still faster than calling a pizza place and waiting for delivery. This recipe comes together in a flash and you can enjoy a piping hot pizza fresh out of the oven. And the best part of all is that you don’t even have to change out of your comfy clothes to get it.

Half Canadian Bacon with Pineapple

One of the best things about pizza is that you can customize the toppings in so many ways. If all your family members don’t agree, that’s perfectly okay. You can make individual pizzas with all different toppings so that each of your family members gets exactly what they want. That’s part of the endless appeal of pizza right there.

It gets a little complicated to make five or six different pizzas and starts to become more expensive. But you can always put different toppings on half of each pie so that each person gets what they want and gets enough to eat. The concept of a half and half pizza with different flavors on each side is so popular that you can even find frozen pizzas designed with this in mind.

One of the most polarizing pizza combinations is Canadian bacon (or ham) with pineapple. Sometimes this is also called a Hawaiian pizza. It’s the kind of pizza flavor combination that you either love it or hate it. Chances are pretty high that you have a couple of family members who like it. But everybody might not. That’s where the idea of a half and half pizza comes in handy.

When you make a pizza with half Canadian bacon with pineapple and the other half with other toppings, everyone in the whole family can get exactly what they want. That’s what pizza night at home is all about: making everyone happy.

Canadian Bacon Pineapple Pizza

This pizza recipe for Canadian bacon pineapple pizza is super easy. That’s ultimately the point of having pizza for dinner, whether you make it for yourself or order it from a pizzeria. Pizza should always be as easy as possible. You just want to get dinner on the table as quick as possible and this recipe definitely fits that bill.

There are lots of ways to make homemade pizza. If you’ve got a lot of time, you can always make your own crust from scratch. Many frugal families decide to do it this way. But making homemade pizza crust from scratch is time-consuming and that almost defeats the purpose of having pizza on hand as a fun, easy meal.

By using a premade packaged Italian bread shell, you bypass the complicated step of having to make a pizza crust. The rest of this recipe is just as easy. You don’t have to make the sauce, slice the pineapple, or even cut up the Canadian bacon. By using simple, pre-packaged ingredients, all you have to do is throw it together and stick it in the oven to bake.

Of course, if you want to make adjustments to this recipe, you certainly can. It’s easy and flexible enough that you can change it up however you see fit to do so. You may run into trouble with finding Canadian bacon at the grocery store, but ham works just as well. The only thing you might have to do with that is to cut up the ham inappropriately small pieces. This is also a good use of leftover ham from a previous meal!

You can also use a half-pound of shredded mozzarella cheese in addition to or instead of the semi-soft herb cheese. The pizza will turn out great no matter what you decide to do. This pizza is easy to make and your whole family will love it!
