Additions You Can Make To This Recipe

As is, this recipe is suitable for vegetarians. If you want, though, you can add meat to this recipe to give it extra protein. This is one of those recipes that's delightfully customizable.

We recommend adding chicken or turkey to this recipe. Those lighter meats are going to do well with the seasonings used in this recipe, without adding too much of their own flavor to the meal. Chicken in particular is a great option, since it is known for its relatively neutral taste.

The great thing about chicken and turkey is that both meats are high in protein but low in fat. This makes them ideal for anyone trying to lose or maintain weight. If chicken or turkey aren't to your fancy, you can add fish to this recipe to really change it up.

The fish you choose is up to you, but we recommend a mild-tasting fish. The seasonings in this dish will add a lot of flavor to the fish. Salmon is a fantastic option that is readily available. Always make sure you purchase fish that is sustainably and safely sourced.
