Product Recalls Every Parent Needs to Know About This Week

Even though companies have to follow safety guidelines and regulations when selling their products, there are still times when products are recalled due to safety hazards or incidents. Generally, products are recalled when a company discovers a safety issue with one of its products. While sometimes it's due to an incident, this isn't always the case.

Products are usually recalled for one of the following reasons:

  • Safety Hazard
  • Contamination
  • Issue With Packaging
  • Violation
  • Adverse Effects

While certain government agencies, such as the FDA, can issue recalls for products, companies can also issue voluntary recalls. A voluntary recall is when a manufacturer identifies an issue with their product and issues a recall instead of waiting for a formal recall.

Although it can be scary when a product you own is recalled, especially if it's a product your little one is using, know that the best thing you can do as a parent is follow the instructions on any product you buy and keep an eye out for any relevant recalls.

In this slideshow, we'll provide you with a list of family-related products that were recently recalled. We've included the remedy for each product so you know what to do, but in all cases, you should stop using the product until you have more information.
