With the holidays right around the corner, you are probably thinking about what the best meal to serve to your family is. Ham and turkey are popular options, but why not combine some of the best elements of everyone’s favorite meats? This recipe combines the succulent taste of a chicken breast with all the savory flavors of ham. It can be a lengthy process to cook, but it is still simple and doable for everyone and that just makes it all the more worthwhile. The next time you prepare chicken breasts for dinner, you should think about this recipe. You won’t regret it.

Juicy Chicken Breast

While this is not necessarily a recipe that will be easy to whip up after a busy afternoon, that is not to say that it cannot be a meal experienced by a family that is always on the go. With an hour or so allotted to the kitchen, the meal can be prepared with relative expedience for everyone in your family. That being said, not everyone has an hour to spare.

When you do come across a bit of extra time, however, then this recipe should be the first one you gravitate towards. On top of it all, by saving the recipe for the days when you actually have time to give it the proper attention that it deserves, you are, in turn, making the recipe even more special. It will make everyone in your family look forward to when it is cooked and it will become a fantastic occasion to anticipate. Sometimes, that can be the most valuable aspect of a home-cooked meal.

Of course, with the steps required to whip up the oven roast chicken and ham sauce, it might be a recipe that is best suited for holidays. When you are already spending time in the kitchen to prepare Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners, then you should think about using that time to create this chicken dish. It will likely become a favorite among all family members who will ask you about it all year ‘round. Fortunately, it is also a recipe that you will not mind sharing with them either.

Ham Sauce

While the cooking of a chicken breast is pretty straightforward and has more than likely been a part of your cooking process at some point over the course of your life, there might be something a bit odd about the phrase “ham sauce.” If you have not heard of ham sauce before, then do not fret. It is actually quite easy to whip up and it tastes positively delicious, unlike the name, which is reminiscent of Buster Bluth’s “hot ham water” on Arrested Development, suggests.

The ingredients required to make a batch of ham sauce are a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, powder of both garlic and onion, paprika and black pepper spices, and sour cream. After laying out strips of cooked ham on the chicken breasts, you will combine these ingredients into a mixture that is then poured over the breasts. The use of the ham on top of the chicken will bring out the flavors of the mixture, as well as the two tastes combining into one another to produce the delicious ham sauce that will make every bite of your dish a delicious symphony of flavors in your mouth.

On top of that, you can serve the chicken breast with a number of different leafy, starchy, or grainy sides that will accompany the dish perfectly. Side salads, broccoli, and other similar vegetables would go perfectly, as well as rice or mashed potatoes. Regardless of what you choose, you will definitely want to get into the kitchen to make this meal as soon as you possibly can.
