Chicken fingers make for an absolute classic of a meal. Everyone likes them. Everyone knows them. But they can also be so much more than what we have long accepted them as. Instead of settling for the crispy breading around the succulent chicken tenders, why not experiment with some barbecue and onion flavors to give it some extra zest?

The recipe is a classic one for families that feature picky eaters or busy workers and it never hurts to jazz it up to give everyone something new to look forward to when dinnertime rolls around. You won’t forget this recipe.

French’s Onion Chicken Tenders

The recipe for chicken tenders is usually one that is pretty basic and, aside from adding some flavorful of dipping sauces, has often been thought to be rather hard to improve upon. After all, juicy chicken meat that is breaded with deliciously crispy fried breading is about as simple and tasty as meals can get. However, with this particular recipe, it takes what people love about the inclusion of some classic dipping sauces and infuses it into the actual cooking and taste of the chicken itself. With this recipe, the flavor packs a punch in the chicken itself without the need for dipping sauces it all.

Of course, you can still include them if you feel so inclined. Though, with barbecue sauce infused so well, that might be one to avoid. However, this recipe for chicken tenders has all that you need if you only have the time to prepare the chicken itself. By spreading the barbecue sauce onto the strips of chicken and then dipping them into the concoction of crushed onions that you have crafted, you are also spreading out the flavors much more carefully.

Instead of combining the barbecue sauce and the onions together to create a sauce that will coat the chicken, you are embracing the ingredients for the tenders one step at a time. In so doing, you allow each one to settle into the tenders at its own pace, never commandeering the chicken. Instead, all three flavors combine for a harmonious taste explosion in your mouth, instead of a particularly overbearing sensation.

Air Fryer Chicken Fingers

What also helps these chicken fingers taste out of this world is the use of the air fryer in their cooking. The tendency when cooking chicken fingers at home for your family is to find the frozen, pre-cooked options and heat them up in the oven. However, you lose a lot of the flavor when you do this, as opposed to what you find in a restaurant-style recipe for chicken tenders. By starting your recipe from scratch and working every step of the way to prepare the meal to be as delicious as possible, you are making chicken fingers that will be even tastier than what you can find when you go out to eat.

By using an air fryer, you make sure that every part of the chicken strips is cooked thoroughly and all the way through, while still giving you the crispy crunch that you know and love from chicken tenders. It will also be a taste beloved by everyone in the family and not just the children. After all, chicken tenders are often seen as a meal that is most beloved by kids. But people of all ages can enjoy them, especially when they are cooked to perfection as this recipe calls for.

Additionally, what meals could be easier to cook than chicken fingers? When you are on the go and you need to cook a meal for your family with relative expediency, then this is the perfect meal to opt for. You won’t spend more than a half-hour in the kitchen on your way to a world of deliciousness for the whole batch of people in your home!
