This Colorful American Pie Recipe is Perfect For the 4th of July

Is the Fourth of July or Memorial Day coming up and finding you unprepared? No worries. With how busy life can get, planning for summer holidays can sometimes take a back seat. This colorful pie recipe will provide you with a fantastic dessert to serve. It proudly displays the colors of the American flag, making it an excellent way to finish off a meal on the 4th or Memorial Day.

It gets its colors from three different fillings: blueberry pie filling, cream cheese, and cherry pie filling. We didn't just focus on presentation here, either. This pie tastes great! Some patriotic desserts are all show, with nothing to offer once you dive your fork in. This definitely isn't one of those recipes.

Plus, this pie recipe is very straightforward to make. As long as you follow the steps exactly, your patriotic pie will turn out perfect every single time. It's important to give yourself a lot of time to work with this pie, as it takes a long time to get to a state where it's ready to serve. Save a weekend day for prepping this pie.

You'll need to bake the pie crust, for starters. Then, both the cherry and blueberry pie fillings need to be refrigerated for 30 minutes each after placement in the pie. Finally, the whole pie needs to chill for at least four hours after it's finished. With all of this in mind, it could take you around six hours to make this entire pie. Take the time in between each step to decorate or prepare other dishes.
