Chicken and dumplings is a classic meal that can be cooked by just about anyone, no matter your level of culinary experience in the kitchen. However, a chicken and dumplings soup recipe that has to be cooked over the course of four to six hours may not seem like it is for everyone.

Fortunately, the steps are minimal and the ingredients are accessible from any local market. The soup is just waiting for you to cook it and, aside from the chicken, soup, and biscuits, among other items, all you need is the crockpot and you can finally begin.

Chicken Dumpling Soup Crock Pot

There are many different ways that one can make soup. Perhaps you may feel the need to cook it on the stove. If you are running low in time, you made need to embrace the microwave. However, if you happen to have a spare bit of time earlier in your day, then you can get started on using a crockpot to cook this delicious chicken dumpling soup recipe. By the time the hunger for dinner rolls around, the crockpot will have created this perfect soup for you to eat, whether you are serving yourself and planning for leftovers or serving a family of four or fewer.

What makes this chicken dumpling soup taste so out of this world is the fact that each ingredient makes for the best possible addition to the soup. Cream of mushroom soup and cream of chicken soup taste absolutely scrumptious when combined together and, since protein is key with this dish, the bonus of even more cooked chicken will send your taste buds into salivation. Additionally, the use of black pepper and a blend of chicken seasoning enables all of the meat and heartiness to pop at every bite.

What really makes this whole meal come together in an unprecedentedly delicious fashion is the imbuing of the biscuits into the entire soup. Nothing is better than a flaky, buttery biscuit and when it is used as another ingredient in an entire soup of tasty treats for your taste buds, you will feel like this soup was destined for you.

Easy Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Over the many years of cooking meats, innumerable people have learned and popularized the opinion that every meat tastes better when it is slow-cooked. Whether it is chicken or steak or pork, there is something about slow-cooked meat that allows for every ounce of flavor to pack a wallop as the succulent taste is brought out over the course of multiple hours, rather than just as expediently as possible.

Obviously, this technique of slow-cooking is a bit different than if you were to have a barbecue outside in the middle of summer, but it is still an effective way of cooking your chicken so that every bite is juicy, rather than just the meat in the center.

Additionally, this particular method of slow-cooking is actually quite a bit easier for you to partake in than the aforementioned one. In this one, you have to do some of the work, sure, but much of the process is taken care of for you by the crockpot itself. The most work you have to do is the actual cutting of the biscuits, which are then shaped by hand into the look and feel of a dumpling.

After this, the biscuit-turned-dumpling creation is added to the crock pot’s already stewing an aroma-inducing concoction of your other ingredients. After four to six hours in the pot, your meal is ready for you! What could be easier than that? As long as you keep the crockpot on low, you do not even have to keep tabs on the meal, save for an occasional, gentle stir.
