Can My Kids Help Me With This Recipe?

Of course! Having your kids help you with this recipe is a great idea. Teaching your kids important life skills, like cooking, is essential. Very young children shouldn't be helping in the kitchen, but as your kids grow they'll be able to give you a hand.

Always go over kitchen safety with your kids before allowing them to help you. Teach them how to safely handle knives and scissors. Make sure they understand the danger that hot surfaces can pose, as well as what to do if a fire ever starts in the kitchen. Ensure that your kids wash their hands properly before cooking.

Your kids can help you with mixing, pressing the cookie crumb and butter mixture into the pan, and microwaving the chocolate. If they need something really simple to do, let them drizzle the chocolate over the cheesecake. This is an easy recipe to make with kids, since it doesn't involve a lot of complicated steps. It's a great opportunity to teach your kids what exactly cheesecake is!

Your kids will have a greater appreciation for the food they eat if they make it themselves. Plus, you'll create lasting memories with them!
