Perimenopause Symptoms – A
The perimenopause symptoms beginning with A are:
Anxiety, feeling ill at ease, feelings of dread, apprehension, doom
Anxiety is one of the most common symptoms experienced by women in perimenopause. Anxiety is a feeling of agitation, nervousness, unnatural fear, and loss of emotional control that may be associated with panic attacks. Anxiety can also bring about physical symptoms such as rapid heart beat, shortness of breath and palpitations. Anxiety can happen as a one time only event, or can be recurring. If you are experiencing perimenopausal anxiety, talk to your doctor.
Medications for people with severe anxiety disorders are available, but for most women with mild anxiety alternative treatments are most effective. Because there are hormonal imbalances involved with perimenopause, the emotional aspect of anxiety should not be the only symptom to be treated.
