Easter Party Ideas
Easter only comes once a year, make it special with Easter party ideas for your family.
It’s spring. The birds are returning, daffodils and tulips are pushing their way skyward and punctuating their presence with bursts of cheerful color. Amid all this renewal is Easter. You can find something to celebrate on this day which stands as the guardian of the gates of spring, whether you are a religious person or not. An Easter Party is a great way to mark the occasion.
A Non-Secular Easter Celebration
Keeping the peace and the general politics of religion out of the way is not what some might consider a proper Easter observance. This is a day for you and your family, so it matters little what others deem proper. An Easter party is a great time to get the friends and neighbors together for the afternoon.
Make your Easter celebrations an afternoon tea. Invite the ladies and their daughters to wear their finest attire complete with new bonnets and serve an English tea beside crestless cucumber sandwiches and first of the season strawberries. The girls will love the chance to play dress up, no matter their age.
The boys might not be thrilled with the prospect of dress-up, but accommodations can be made for this oversight. Boys like to play in the out of doors. While the ladies relax with tea in hand send the boys off to have a potato sack race. (The littlest ladies will surely want to show the boys a thing or two, so be certain to have enough sacks for all the children.)
Fair play can be achieved by running the children of differing ages in heats. Youngest children run first then up to the older kids. if your yard comes equipped with a trampoline employ Dads to administer a game of crack the egg. It is fun and thematic.
Easter in the Heart of Christianity
If your Easter Celebrations would be deemed incomplete without paying reverence to Christ, you are not alone. This does not mean, however that your day must pass in solemn prayer devoid of laughter. Include reverence as a part of your day’s celebration. Start the day off by packing up the family and attending a congregation of your choice.
Once home add a few special eggs to the regular candy filled ones. The special eggs should be filled with biblical references to the events Easter morning celebrates. Make these eggs memorable and more fun by enclosing a tangible object like a rock or a nail or chips of soap and a linen cloth to represent the topics of the enclosed passage.
Plan a party decorated with the symbols of Easter, being sure to explain their meaning to your children. This way Easter is both celebrated and honored as well as a day of fun and togetherness for family and friends.
