Many diets have come and gone but the Cabbage Soup Diet is one that is proven to be effective for the short term. The cabbage soup diet is a limited foods diet. Cabbage soup is the main part of the diet and is eaten often throughout the day. Be sure to consult your doctor before starting any diet.

The diet is pretty restrictive and staying on this low calorie regimen can help some people lose as much as ten calories in seven days. However, it is also low in complex, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals so it is not advisable to stay on it for more than a week.

In any case, if you’re looking to lose weight for a specific occasion, like a prom or wedding, you may want to see how this seven day diet helps you to shed the pounds.

Whether you want to follow the Cabbage Soup Diet strictly, or whether you just want to eat cabbage soup as part of your diet in general, it is a healthy meal or side that you can enjoy at any time.

Cabbage soup can refer to any soup where cabbage is a main ingredient. It is usually mixed with other vegetables and uses a fish, mushroom or pork stock.

The soup is popular in Polish, Slovak and Ukrainian culture. It is made with white cabbage which is browned before it is boiled and seasoned. Diced potatoes and carrots are added and boiled until they are cooked. Other optional ingredients include tomato paste, spices, flour and butter.

Here, we have included a recipe for a basic cabbage soup as well as a seven day regimen to follow while you are on the diet. Try it to find how it works to get you ready for your special occasion.
