Retirees Are Flocking to These Parts of America

America’s population is getting older, and many retirees are choosing to move after leaving the workforce. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, millions of Americans age 65 and older relocate each year, often searching for warmer weather, lower living costs, or communities that offer an easier and more active lifestyle.

In this slideshow, Moms Who Think looks at the parts of the country attracting the largest number of retirees. Many of these areas are located in warm Sun Belt states like Florida and Texas, where mild winters, retiree friendly tax policies, and growing healthcare networks make them especially appealing.

To identify where retirees are moving, Moms Who Think reviewed U.S. Census Bureau data from the American Community Survey and ranked counties by the number of adults age 65 and older who moved there from another county, state, or country.

Here are the places in America where retirees are moving in the greatest numbers.
