Super Hero Birthday Party Theme

Clark Kent into Superman, Bruce Wayne into Batman, Diana Prince into Wonder Woman (yes we could only think of Lynda Carter too), Gotham, the fortress of solitude...The is no limit to the places you can go when planning a superhero party. Although a little research on superheros popular today will help you avoid losing cool points when you plan this birthday party theme.

Superhero Party Theme Venue - The Bat Cave:

1) Use streamers in colors that “go” with your child’s favorite superhero. Use yellow and black for Batman, red, white and blue for Superman, red and black for Spiderman, etc. Hang the streamers all over the party room.

2) Make cartoon bubbles from construction paper and put superhero action words in them. Words like POW! BAM! OOF! and ZAP!

3) Make the bat signal or a spider on your driveway using chalk. Choose the emblem for your child's favorite superhero.

4) Use pages from comic books or the Sunday comics as place mats at the party table. If you give the children Silly Putty, they can lift the images off the pages.

5) Hang capes on the back of each chair. You can buy inexpensive ones, or make your own out of rectangular pieces of fabric. When the party's over, the guests can take them home.

Super Hero Fuel - Themed Snacks for Superheroes

1) Make sugar cookies in the shape of bats, lightening bolts, and diamonds. You can put the ‘S’ for Superman on the diamonds with icing when the cookies cool.

2) Make sandwiches, and then cut them into bat or diamond shapes. You can use carrots as lightening bolts.

3) Make a birthday cake in the shape of your child’s favorite superhero’s emblem. Cake pans for most of the popular heroes can be found at craft stores or online. If you can’t find the one you need, you can bake a round or rectangular cake, and carve it to the appropriate shape before frosting.

4) Have your guests use their superpowers to change the color of what they’re drinking. A day before the party, freeze colored juice in ice cube trays. Serve clear soda or seltzer. Let the guests add the colored ice cubes to change the color of the soda.
