Your Kids Will Love These Exciting Easter Crafts

Crafting time is always fun, but there’s something about spring that makes it so magical. Maybe it’s the warmer weather that has us itching to go outside and color with chalk. Maybe it’s the fact that dyeing Easter eggs is a beloved holiday tradition. Or it could be because the increased daylight hours fill us with positivity and hope, and that translates into painting, sewing, and crafting. No matter the reason, I’ve always loved crafting with my kids this time of year. From easy-to-assemble bunny plates to more complicated crafts (and egg-dyeing, obviously), there are so many fun ideas that will help kids get excited about the spring holiday.

With Easter just a few days away, check out these kits and DIY craft ideas that you can do with your little bunnies ahead of the big day.

Bunny Headband

Bunny Headband

Kids love wearing fun headwear, and you can make them their very own bunny ears with materials you probably already have around the house. Crayola shared an Easter bunny headband craft, inspired by Craft Box Girls, that requires construction paper, cardstock, scissors, a pencil, glue, and a ruler. You’ll use the ruler and pencil to make a paper strip, then cut it out and set it aside. For the outer and inner bunny ears, sketch the shape on construction paper. Then cut out and glue together, gluing the bottom of the completed ears to the top of the headband. Decorate the headband by cutting out construction paper flowers and leaves, then gluing them to the headband. Your child can also color flowers if that’s easier.

Salt Painted Easter Eggs

Salt Painted Easter Eggs

Transform a regular egg drawing into a puffy paint-style artwork! One Little Project shared instructions for making this cute craft, which could be a standalone art piece or go on the front of a homemade Easter card. Start by drawing an Easter egg on a piece of thick paper with Elmer’s glue (you can also download the blog’s free egg templates). From there, sprinkle salt on the glue and shake the extra salt off. Now you are ready to paint! Use diluted watercolor paint to create pastel colors, then paint the glue and salt lines with a paintbrush. It’ll dry in a puffy style that is super cute.
