There are many ways to prepare chicken, but not every preparation will be worthy of the name ‘divine’.

We are not sure what ingredient it is that elevates this chicken to its status of being divine, but we do know that it is its taste that sets it apart.

Read on to find out more about this recipe and how you can prepare it for your hungry crew.

Divine Chicken

To make this recipe, start by heating 2 tablespoons olive oil in a 12-inch skillet. Add 2 ½ to 3 lbs. chicken cut into serving pieces. Cook until meat is browned.

Next stir in (1) 14 oz can whole tomatoes peeled and undrained, (1) 14 ½ oz. jar sliced mushrooms drained, 1 minced garlic clove and 1 envelope Lipton Recipe Secrets onion soup mix.

Simmer covered or 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.

The meat can be served with any number of sides, but it is recommended to be served over a bed of noodles or rice. This will allow the soupy mixture to absorb into the starch infusing the entire meal with the rich flavorings.

Of course, if you would rather opt for something lighter, you can serve the chicken divine with a salad, potato or vegetable of your choice.

The taste is what makes this dish divine. It is the mixture of the onions, and tomatoes combined to make a soupy texture that works so well with the meat that it elevates the taste so it can be considered a food worthy of a god.

A similar taste can be brought to steak in a recipe known as Steak Divine.

To make this recipe, start with 2 lbs. of round steak cut into strips. Fry in 1 ½ tsp. oil. Add 2 sliced onions, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can cooked mushrooms, ½ cup dry sherry and ½ cup water.

Cook 1 ½ hours and serve over rice and vegetables.

Chicken Mushroom Recipe

Going back to what makes this chicken recipe so divine, it can be argued that is the combination of chicken and mushrooms that elevates the taste. They have a meaty texture that works well together in enhancing the taste of both foods. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that there are several recipes that feature these ingredients.

The first recipe we will be taking a look at is one for Creamy Parmesan Chicken and Mushrooms.

To make the recipe, start by combining 4-6 large chicken thighs, 3 tbsp. oil, salt and pepper, ½ tsp. garlic powder and 1 tsp, Italian seasoning in a bowl.

Then put the chicken in a large skillet and brown on both sides. Transfer the chicken to a plate and cover to keep in the heat.

Add 3 tbsp. butter to a pan and heat until melted. Stir in 2 tsp. minced garlic and 2/3 cup thinly sliced mushroom. Cook 3-4 minutes.

Sprinkle in 2 tbsp, flour and stir to combine. Then whisk in 1 cup chicken broth, 1 cup half and half, 2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to taste.

Return chicken to pan and spoon a bit of the sauce over it. Cover and bake at 375 for 15 to 20 minutes.

Spoon more sauce over the chicken, sprinkle it with cracked black pepper, grated parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Serve immediately.

Garlic Mushroom Chicken Thighs: To prepare this recipe, start with 1 ½ pounds chicken thighs. Combine 1 tsp. onion powder, 1 tsp. garlic powder, ½ tsp. dried thyme, ½ tsp. rosemary, ½ tsp. salt and ¼ tsp. cracked black pepper. Coat the chicken with the seasoning mix.

Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a skillet and sear chicken thighs in batches until they are browned on both sides. Put on a plate, cover to keep warm and set aside.

In the same skillet melt butter and add 8 oz mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper and add 4 cloves garlic, 1 tbsp. fresh chopped parsley, ½ tsp. dried thyme, ½ tsp. dried rosemary. Cook 4 minutes.

Return chicken to pan, season with salt and pepper, garnish with parsley and serve.

Chicken and mushrooms make a healthy and tasty combination and they can be the great base of a healthy meal to serve your family. They are especially good when they are elevated to divine status. How will you be using these ingredients to make unique meals you know they’ll love?
