Description

For a quick and easy meal or side dish, a classic baked potato delivers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • Butter
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1/2 c chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Scrub the potatoes and pierce each one several times with a fork.
  2. Dust potatoes lightly with sea salt and wrap them individually in aluminum foil.
  3. Bake the potatoes for about 50-60 minutes, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
  4. Chop green onions.
  5. Remove the potatoes from the oven, and let them cool for a few minutes.
  6. Cut a slit in the top of each potato, and fluff up the insides with a fork.
  7. Set out the butter, sour cream, and chopped chives in separate bowls, and place them next to the potatoes.
  8. Let each person build their own baked potato, by adding pat of butter, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of chives. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
