Can My Kids Help Make This Fudge?

Having your kids help you in the kitchen gives many benefits. One, it creates lasting memories for all of you that you'll cherish as they grow older. Two, it teaches them essential cooking skills that they'll need to be successful as adults. Three, it will teach them to appreciate the food that they eat.

If you're wondering whether this fudge recipe is okay to make with kids, the answer is yes! Grab your kids and have them give you a hand with certain steps. Make sure you give your kids tasks that are age-appropriate; for example, a young child shouldn't be boiling the fudge mixture. Have your younger children gather the ingredients for you, while your older children can help stir the mixture.

Of course, you need to remember to teach your kids about kitchen safety before allowing them to help with this recipe. To avoid injury, they should know how to behave around sharp objects and hot surfaces. The latter is especially important considering this recipe involves a boiling mixture. Be firm when it comes to enforcing rules in the kitchen. Don't allow your children to run, since this could cause an accident. The last thing you need is a child running into you while you're handling something hot or heavy.

Once your kids understand kitchen safety, you're good to go! Invite them into the kitchen with you to make this delicious triple chocolate fudge recipe. You'll all enjoy indulging in it when it's finished! Make sure to keep it in the fridge to maximize freshness, and aim to finish it within two to three weeks. Consider including a piece in your kids' lunches for a special treat.
