Pork chops make a delicious base for any meal. When it comes to the sides you serve them with, the possibilities are endless, but if you are looking for a hearty comforting meal, a side of stuffing can’t be beaten.

In this recipe, we take the stuffing to the next level with an apple cornbread variety that will make the perfect complement for your pork. Read on to find out how it’s done.

Apple Cornbread Stuffing

The pork chops may be the star of this dish, but can we talk about the stuffing for a minute?

To make the stuffing, start by combining 6 ounces of cornbread stuffing mix with 14 ½ ounces of chicken broth, 1 small apple peeled and cored and 1 1/3 cups of French-fried onions.

This makes a great base for the pork giving it a hearty element and a taste that is tangy and sweet.

Apple and apple products are often used to enhance the taste of pork and the onions give it a bit of a kick. Mix this with the rich texture of the potato-y stuffing and there is no question that this is a side that elevates the dish.

To complete the dish, once you are done with the stuffing mixture, spoon it into the bottom of a greased 2-quart baking dish.

Then arrange your four pork chops on top of the mixture.

In a small dish, combine 1 tbsp. honey Dijon mustard with ½ cup peach preserves. Spread evenly over the pork chops. This will enhance the fruity, tangy taste even further.

Finally, bake in an oven preheated to 375 for 40 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink in the center.

Then get ready to serve a delicious dish your family is sure to love.

Pork Chops Stuffing

Because pork chops and stuffing make such a great combination, it should come as no surprise that they are often combined in recipes.

If you are looking for variations you can make on the cornbread and stuffing theme, here are some suggestions.

Pork Chops and Stuffing Bake

For this recipe, start by preparing 4 cups of stuffing according to directions.

Spoon the stuffing across the middle of a 3-quart baking dish and surround with 6 pork chops.

Stir (1) 10-12 oz. can of cream of celery soup with 1/3 cup milk. Pour mixture over pork and cover the baking dish.

Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Sprinkle with ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese and serve.

Stuffing Topped Pork Chops

To make this recipe, start by preparing 1 (6 oz.) package of pork chops according to package directions.

Season pork chops with salt pepper and onion powder.

Heat oil in a large skillet and brown pork chops on both sides.

Arrange pork chops in a 9 x 13” baking dish and spoon ½ cup of the stuffing mixture on the top of each chops.

Mix 1 (10.75) can of cream of mushroom soup with 1/3 cup milk. Pour it over the chops.

Cover with foil and bake 35 to 40 minutes. Serve with your favorite side.

Stuffed Pork Chops

To make this recipe, start by cutting into the chops to create a pocket. You should cut them in half almost to the bone.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Heat oil in the skillet and sear chops on both sides.

Remove pork chops and put them on a plate.

Then make the stuffing by melting ¾ cup butter and combining with ½ cup chopped celery and ½ cup diced onion. Sauté until tender and combine with 7 cups dry bread cubes. Mix well.

Stuff ½ to ¾ cup of the stuffing into each chop so that it sticks out a little.

Place chops into a baking dish and arrange the remaining stuffing around them. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.

Allow to rest 3 to 4 minutes and serve.

Pork chops and stuffing make the base of a great meal. And now that you have various ways to prepare this combination, you can make a wide array of dishes your family is sure to love. How will you be enjoying these two hearty foods with your family tonight?
