Herb Seasoning vs. Fresh Herbs

The old age question of whether drying out an herb and making it into preservable flakes provides an equivalent flavor profile as a freshly plucked herb remains.

Dried oregano vs. fresh oregano. Dried basil vs. fresh basil. Dried parsley vs. fresh parsley. Dried bay leaves vs. fresh bay leaves.

All of these herbs are commonly used in Italian cuisine and in an Italian Seasoning. Some prefer the taste and freshness of plant herbs that are finely chopped and rubbed onto the surface of a turkey while others prefer the ease and taste of a seasoning mix.

Both options have their benefits so it would be beneficial for you to play around with the option of either ingredient as an alternative substitute.

Try fresh oregano but combine it with the Italian Seasoning to change the overall taste of the turkey. If you have a dinner crowd that loves the taste of parsley, then adding fresh parsley along with the seasoning may boost that ingredients flavor.

Adding fresh herbs to this delicious recipe may also assist in adding moisture to the overall Herb Roasted Turkey Breast. It would also be handy to sprinkle some finely shopped herbs at the very end after slicing the turkey breast!

Whatever your choices are, this recipe is sure to fill the kind tummies and hearts of your dinner guests!
