You Need to Try This Slow Cooker Brats with Sauerkraut Recipe

Many different meats are cooked in a slow cooker. From pork loin to chicken, the slow cooker is used to tenderize different meats and give them just the right texture. A slow cooker is especially useful when you have particularly tough cuts of meat, so much so that it's the only good way to cook certain cuts.

A less common meat to see go into a slow cooker is bratwurst. This recipe is for a great bratwurst and sauerkraut dinner. It's a fantastic way to bring a slice of Germany into your home without too much effort. Plus, it allows you to easily cook brats at any time of the year, even if the grill isn't available.

You'll need a five- or six-quart slow cooker for this recipe. This dinner will cook on low for six to seven hours. After this time, check the brats to see if they're still pink. If you see any pink remaining, cook them for just a little bit longer. If not, they're done and ready to serve!
