Buffalo Chicken Pizza Recipe

For many years, the most popular types of pizza consumed by people were the staples like cheese and pepperoni. But as tastes evolved, so did the kinds of pizza that people enjoyed eating. From sausage pizza came the meat lover’s type. From ham, pizza came Hawaiian pizza. And eventually, we started experimenting with the bases of pizza.

Why did it have to be tomato sauce? And why did there only have to be one kind of meat? That is how we ended up with buffalo chicken pizza, which has quickly risen to become a favorite of many people the world over.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Toppings

Even though some people cook buffalo chicken pizzas with the tomato sauce still intact, this particular recipe calls for the use of hot pepper sauce and pizza sauce to be combined. Not only is this a viable way of cooking the pizza, but it is also equally scrumptious and sharply flavorful.

When you cook a buffalo chicken pizza, you definitely want to make sure you have enough hot pepper sauce to properly coat the pieces of chicken you have cooked and ready to top the pizza with. What is a buffalo chicken pizza without the buffalo-flavored sauce, after all? But a buffalo chicken pizza does not have to solely be limited to the buffalo chicken of it all. The toppings can vary far beyond this option and can include such complementary flavors as the sharp crunch of tiny celery bits, and the soft powdery samplings of crumbled bleu cheese sprinkled across the pie altogether.

After all, what is a pizza without its toppings? And just because buffalo chicken is the main topping, that does not mean that it is the only topping you can choose. In fact, the pizza might actually become a bit overpowered with hot sauce if you focus solely on buffalo chicken. You will need the other toppings and ingredients to counterbalance the sharp hotness of the dominant flavor. There is also one more topping that, while it may be seen as more of an unconventional offering for pizzas, will also shock and delight your taste buds as you never knew they could be.

Buffalo Chicken Cauliflower Pizza

That topping is cauliflower. The idea of introducing cauliflower into a succulently savory dish may seem abhorrent to some people who are more typically opposed to vegetables intruding on their comfort foods. But rest assured that cauliflower is an extremely underrated vegetable and, when combined with the proper flavorings and sauces, cauliflower can be the best vegetable in the world.

Fortunately, if you include cauliflower on your buffalo chicken pizza, it is not a requirement of any further effort or time spent in the kitchen on your part. Pizza is always an excellent option to cook in the kitchen when you are trying to whip up a meal for your entire family in a relatively short period of time. In most cases, you will even end up with leftover pizza slices to enjoy for days to come. But yes, even by introducing additional toppings and various different kinds of sauces, you will not add much time, if any, to the time spent in the kitchen. After combining all of the ingredients onto the pizza, it will still take just about ten minutes to cook, leaving you with all the time you need over the course of the rest of your day.

On top of it all, the cooking of a buffalo chicken pizza at home can even be a great bonding experience for the whole family. A few moments in the kitchen are as fun and down-home as gathering around the corner with pizza dough, rolling it out, and topping the dough to your heart’s desires. And with this buffalo chicken recipe, you will have a certified favorite to return to time and again.
