Summer can be full of slow mornings and relaxed days. As soon as we get into the habit of not rushing out the door, school rolls back around. To prepare yourself and your kids for the upcoming school year, it's a good idea to come up with a handful of back-to-school breakfast ideas. These ideas can make your mornings a little less stressful yet still provide your children with the nutritious meals their bodies crave and need.
Preparing Nutritious Breakfasts in a Rush

Although preparing nutritious breakfasts in a rush can feel daunting, don't reach for the sugar-filled cereals just yet. It is possible to prepare breakfasts on busy mornings that will fuel your child's body and brain for the packed day of learning they will be facing. It takes careful planning and intentionality.
One of the best things you can do before you start is remember that flying by the seat of your pants doesn't usually work. It's essential to have a plan. One thing I do in our household is create a recipe box of our family's favorite meals. This includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You do not need 100s of meals. Just pick 10-20 of your kids' favorites and write them down.
I used to plan meals only a few days to a week ahead. However, the time would get away from me. It has worked so much better to create meal plans a month in advance. Sure, things may change as the month goes on, but having a rough plan is incredibly beneficial. Take the list of favorites and plan out your meals in advance. After this step, creating grocery lists becomes easier.
While planning, it can be helpful to create freezer breakfasts as you go. So, you can pop them into the freezer, and your kids can grab them on those extra busy mornings. If you struggle with this step, one thing that has helped me is making meals in bulk and then freezing the extras. To make these breakfast ideas in less time, take the time the night before to prep each meal so everything is ready to cook in the morning.
Now that you know how to set up your plan, take a look at the following nutritious back-to-school breakfasts that your kids and you will love.
