Great Recipes Beginning with V That Kids Will Love

You may be under the impression that there aren't a lot of dishes that you can serve that start with “V”. Letters at the end of the alphabet tend to have fewer words that start with them. With V, however, you'd be wrong! There are actually a number of dishes that you can make for your kids that start with V. Let's get into our recipe; after that, we'll talk about some of the other “V” foods that you can make your kids.

Volcanoes in the Microwave

Ingredients :

4 teaspoons peanut butter
4 large marshmallows
Red sprinkles
Whipped cream

Directions:

1. Cut a hole in the middle of each of the marshmallows. Fill each with 1 teaspoon peanut butter. Pour sprinkles on top.

2. Place on microwave-safe plate and microwave for 50 seconds, watching the “volcanoes” erupt.

3. Put a circle of whipped cream on the outside of the plate. Serve.

Other “V” Dishes Kids Will Love

If you're serving volcanoes for dessert, why not try to serve foods that start with V for dinner, too? Check out these ideas.

  • Veal. Veal is meat from calves. Generally, it's more expensive than adult beef. If you're open to making a more expensive dinner that everyone will enjoy, then veal is a great bet.
  • Vegetable soup with noodles. Vegetable soup on its own won't be a kid's favorite, but if you throw some fun noodles in there it's sure to be a hit. Try alphabet letters, or noodles shaped like characters from a cartoon they love. You can usually find the latter in macaroni boxes; simply use the noodles, but don't use the cheese packet.
  • Venison. If you have hunters in your family, or happen to know some, then venison should be easy to come by. Venison is deer meat. There are many recipes out there to try if you're new to venison. It's a good meat with a distinct taste.
  • Veggie burgers. Veggie burgers are a healthier alternative to beef burgers. If throwing some burgers on the skillet or grill sounds like a nice dinner for you, then this is a way to do it while still keeping with the V theme.
  • Vegetable curry. Curry is becoming increasingly popular in the United States, and for good reason. It's spicy and savory, perfect for serving with rice. This vegetable curry is delicious, and keeps wit the “V' theme.
  • Vori vori de pollo. This is a traditional chicken soup from Paraguay. It's made with cornmeal and cheese balls, so it should be a favorite with your kids. This is a fun way to host a “V” themed night!
