Baby Middle Names

Image There are a few steps to take in order to find the right middle name for your baby.

In the focus to choose the perfect name for their baby, the baby's middle name sometimes gets lost in the shuffle. Your baby's middle name is part of their entire name, part of their individuality. Many parents combine a common first name with some baby middle names in order to produce something a little more unique.

When choosing your baby's middle name it is important that you put it together with both their first and last names and see how it sounds. Ideally the middle name should flow easily off the tongue and not wrap you up in knots when trying to say it.

Try to choose a middle name that begins with a different letter or different sound from that in which their first name ends. This will often result in a smoother name combination. One example is David Donald vs. David Michael. Having the middle name begin with a different letter sounds more harmonious.

When choosing a middle name for your baby, vary the number of syllables in each of their first and middle. If they have a short first name, compliment it by using something a little longer.

The next thing you need to check out when choosing a baby's middle name is to see what the initials spell out. Do they spell out something intelligible or it is an acronym that will end up with the being teased in the playground at school? Keep away from names that when attached to your surname are going to cause problems.

When choosing a baby name for consideration; put the names together, write them out, put the initials together, and definitely say them out loud. You will find the perfect name for your baby with a little research and time. What you love today may not be your favorite next week. What you end up naming your baby will be the one that you keep coming back to, over and over, because it doesn't lose its appeal. Choosing your baby's name should never be stressful, so remember to have fun with this!

Meaning of Baby Names

Baby Name Meanings

Many parents use the meaning of baby names in order to choose the right name for their baby boy or baby girl.

When looking for a name for your baby, one of the most fascinating things is finding out the meanings of the names you are drawn to. Having a baby is one of the most wonderful and amazing things that can happy to a couple. Giving that baby the perfect name can sometimes seem like a daunting task. Choosing a name by the meaning is one way to narrow down the list of names you like.

When choosing a name for your child it is important, remember that their name will become a part of who they are. You can consider names that are commonplace or ones which are a little more unique, but more and more parents will often look at the meaning of a name when choosing one for their child. Although the name you may be considering for your child may have some sentimental meaning because it once belonged to a beloved great uncle of yours, you may discover that the actual name means something like "empty space". Suddenly it starts to lose its appeal.

Often when searching for the meaning of baby names, you will find yourself leaning towards names that mean something of importance to you. If you are hoping that your daughter will be independent and full of character, then why not look for names with meanings that are associated to such traits? One name that comes to mind is Emily, which means industrious.

Today choosing a name which is based on the background meaning has become even more popular. There are entire books and websites which are devoted to providing the meanings of names. Take your time, do your research, and you are sure to find the name that really does suit your new bundle of joy.

Unusual Cute Baby Names

Image The following are some points to consider when looking at unusual cute names for your baby.

When you are choosing your baby's names, you should consider a few points. If you are looking into unusual cute baby names, these points are even more important!

1. Always consider the baby's last name when choosing an unusual cute name for them. Say the two names together. This will give you a feel as to how easily the name flows.

2. If your last name is short, try to choose a longer first baby name. This helps to strike a good balance. However, last names which contain 2 syllables will typically sound good no matter what length the first name happens to be. If you have a longer last name, try to choose a shorter baby's name in order to provide them with the right balance, especially when it is said out loud.

3. It is important to remember that any unusual cute baby's name you choose for your child will be with them for the rest of their lives. A name like "Precious" may suit your child for their first few years; in the future such a name may cause them problems.

4. Whenever you are choosing an unusual cute baby name, do not to forget about the middle name as well. You do not want to choose a name that you love only to find that both the middle name and your surname do not sit comfortably with it. Again...say all the names out to see if they flow comfortably. It may be that you need to change the first and middle names around in order to get the right sound.

When it comes to choosing unique baby names, parents should take extra care in choosing and spend some time taking into consideration the points provided above. Your baby has their name for life, let it be one they are proud of!

Cute Baby Names

Cute Baby Names

How should you go about choosing a cute name for your baby?

Baby names are personal, and cuteness to one person is the complete opposite to another. If you are choosing a name based on whether it is cute, popular or unique there are many other factors that need to be considered.

1. It is important that the name you choose goes nicely with the sound of your last name as well as ensuring that you choose both a first and middle name that go well together also. We've all heard the names that make us think "what were that poor child's parents thinking?"

2. If you have chosen a name or names that both you and your partner like try to see what the initials look like. It is important that you do not give your child a name that when the initials are put together they spell out a word that makes people laugh. Choosing a name like Anna Stephanie Solstice may sound cultured, but when you put those initial together...eek!

3. When considering some different cute baby names for your child ensure that the name will grow with them. Although the name may seem cute and trendy when they are a baby things can all change when they get to 10 years old.

4. Definitely avoid cute baby names which can be shortened to an insulting nickname. Growing up today for children is hard without the added difficult of having a name that people can make fun of.

5. When looking for a cute name for a baby, go through various baby name books or search on the internet for cute baby names. We have a list of both baby boy names and baby girl names. Look often and make a list. There are plenty of names available which look good and they have a special meaning. Why not go for a name that means "sweet" or "kind" or "brave" etc.

If you are looking for a shortlist of cute baby names for your child, grab some books or sit in front of the computer and do some research. As soon as you find a name that you like then write it down. Once you have your shortlist compiled start saying the name and see how it sounds and feels. You'll have the name you love in no time!

Most parents will choose their baby's name before it is born. They look at the more popular names around such as Emily or James. However, many of today's parents are now looking for something that is a little more different or unusual. They search for rare baby names instead.

A rare name is one that you find isn't in a baby name book. Often, searching for a rare baby name can be a time consuming task for any would be parent. It is important that when choosing a name for your baby you make sure that the name isn't silly, as the last thing you want is for your child to spend the rest of their life being made fun of because of the name they were given at birth.

One of the best places today for looking for a name for your newborn baby that is both rare and unusual is through the internet. There are many sites which have been set up which hold thousands of different names. Often these sites will include names from other Countries such as India, China or the Philippines. They will include names that come from mythology from the bible as well has having hundreds even thousands of unique and exotic baby names. Even though the name may sound familiar, the way that this spelled can also lead to it being considered a rare baby name. For example: Aidan is a common name but you can make it a rare baby name by spelling it Aedan instead.

If you are really looking for some inspiration when considering a rare baby name for your newborn then you may want to consider having a look in the Bible or at some great works of literature. Certainly people like Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and the Bronte sisters not only had the more popular names of the times in their stories for their characters, but on occasion they would provide names that were considered a little more unusual.

Any parent who has a baby on the way, the world is your oyster when it comes to finding rare baby names. Take your time, make lists, and in no time you'll have a name you love!

Image Many baby names that parents choose for their baby girl seem to be subject to the whims of celebrities and popularity (those famous top ten lists).

For the most part the top ten names used for naming girls have not been changed all that much for last few years. Although some of them may have changed their placement in the list they still remain on the list.

The top ten most popular baby girls names at the time of writing this article are as follows:

1. Emma
2. Emily
3. Madison
4. Kaitlyn
5. Hailey
6. Olivia
7. Isabella
8. Hannah
9. Sarah
10. Abigail

When you are choosing a girls baby name it is important that the one you choose is one that both you and your partner like. Look at the way it sounds and looks as well as any connotations that may be attached to it. A great question to ask yourself when looking for a name for your baby girl is "Would I like this name if it was mine?"

Also when choosing a name for your daughter select one that has meaning to you. By doing this you are providing your child with a sense of belonging. You may want to select a name which fits your child (if they are dark haired then a name like Melain would be perfect as it means "black" or "dark"). However, if you choose to do this you may well have to wait until they have actually been born.

However, most parents will have chosen their baby's name prior to its birth and usually they find that when they see the baby for the first time the name they have chosen fits them perfectly. A great way of ensuring that the name you have chosen for your baby girl is right is by seeing how it sounds and how it looks written out (both fully and with initials). Often by playing around with different names for baby girls parents will find the one that they feel most comfortable with and sounds just right for the baby girl that they are expecting.
